Not necessarily. That warning watches the charging connector, not the board. Water may have come in somewhere else and be doing its work inside without the phone detecting it. If the device really got wet, it is worth opening and inspecting it even after the message clears.
Can a Galaxy that fell in the ocean be recovered?
