On most iPads there is a difference that works in your favor and does not exist on a phone: the glass and the display are separate layers. If the drop only cracked the glass and the image still looks fine, on several models we replace just that layer and it comes out considerably cheaper than a full screen. On the iPad Pro and the newer Air models the assembly is laminated at the factory and the whole thing has to be replaced. We confirm which one you have at the diagnostic, before quoting.
The battery is the other routine job. In an iPad it is held down with far more adhesive than in a phone and it covers most of the case, so it takes time and the device is better left with us. We also see plenty of worn charging ports: these are devices that spend years being plugged in daily, and the connector gives out before the rest of the hardware does. On Android tablets the work is the same, though there the part depends on the model and sometimes has to be ordered.
